Therefore when she told me about her endeavors to become a certified health coach, I couldn’t have been happier- it is who she is to her core! 1. top 3 goals upon starting the 6-month program were:
Cut down on eating sweets, add healthier foods into my diet, have a better understanding of food health. 2. Jani was able to help me work toward these goals by: focusing on what was important to me, listening to my concerns, evaluating my life situations and how that affected my food habits so we could set realistic goals. 3. the biggest tangible change I have noticed since beginning the program has been: I now try new things. I had fear and resistance going into the program. I no longer look at new foods as weird or scary. I now see them as things I just haven't tried yet. 4. Debra Hi…my name is Debra. I started my weight loss and healthy eating journey on October 29, 2015. When my best friend, cousin and certified health coach, Jan Lemoine approached me with the particulars about the TLS Slim program, I made the decision to attempt to implement this in my life. Desperately wanting to be thinner and healthier but fearsome of yet another weight loss blunder after yo-yo dieting for years left me feeling deeply defeated, I was cautiously optimistic. However, I told myself to keep an open mind. After all, I have always trusted her judgement and with her combination of extreme knowledge and intensive training regarding healthy living, I confidently knew she had my best interests at heart. I’m 60 years old and my weight has always fluctuated like many women I know. Losing weight wasn’t really the issue. The reality was that it was simply difficult to make any weight loss effort a complete lifestyle change. Once I lost the weight, I would gradually find myself slipping back to my old habits and before long, there I was again back to square one! Initially, on the TLS program, detoxification is the first order of business during the first seven days. Over the years, our bodies inevitably become havens for toxins that we eat or breathe in through the environment we live in. Without eliminating these ruthless invaders, we have an inability or at the very least, great difficulty to achieve our weight loss goals AND becoming healthy. We would never, ever think of changing the oil in our cars by simply adding new clean oil to the old gunky oil that still remains inside the tank without first draining the old oil out. It would hinder our car’s ability to run properly just as it would for our body’s natural ability to function properly with all those toxins creating havoc in our bodies! As for me, living with chronic health problems over many years of my life made the detoxification period a bit uncomfortable but well worth it ultimately. As the toxins were leaving my body, my chronic pain intensified allowing me to continue for just four days. However, I did the best I could considering my circumstances and I’m glad I persevered because by ridding my body of those detrimental toxins, it allowed my body to heal from the inside out which was a crucial and necessary first step to wellness. Initially, I must confess that consuming lots of vegetables and some fruit seemed like a daunting task since eating this way was so foreign to me. In fact, at times, in the first few weeks, I felt as if I might actually become a vegetable. After all, we are products of what we eat, as they say! However, in a matter of weeks, a shift in my brain chemistry must have taken place and it has become a new and welcome habit that I want to keep for life!!! Along the way, I’ve discovered new vegetables and spices that I wouldn’t ordinarily even consider tasting and I’ve actually discovered my newfound enjoyment of cooking now! I’m proud of the fact that the food I’m feeding my body is giving my body the proper nutrition in order for it to heal and thus feel great! After living with a chronic pain disease for over forty-five years, feeling better is MONUMENTAL for me! Who knew that food had SO much medicinal and healing power? As a result, my self-esteem has begun to go through the roof. And this is coming from a woman who probably thought about food and weight thousands of times a day. I know many of you can relate to this conundrum! Since we’re constantly bombarded by images of beauty and body image in the media, it was not difficult to feel like a failure in comparison. Presently, however, I feel a sense of empowerment which allows me to ditch those negative thoughts and comparisons in favor of a prideful ME!!! TLS has motivated me right from the beginning since I starting seeing results immediately. After committing to the 21-day challenge and completing it, I told myself to continue persevering. A little voice in my head whispered it would be worth my time and effort. Right from the get-go, I began to notice results. In the first month, I lost seven pounds but that’s not all. The inches have continued to melt away as well which means that I’m not losing muscle in the process.
